The maths on the missed shake: With shake consumed → 2,032+354 = 2,386 kcal · P = 82+31 = 113g → still 7g short of the 120g floor. French toast (21g P) + dosa (10g P) = only 31g from the two biggest meals. The supplement fills the gap only if the breakfast also has enough protein from eggs. French toast + dosa + shake requires eggs added to breakfast to clear 120g.

Missed: Vanilla Raspberry Protein Shake (354 kcal · P:31g · C:51g · F:3g) — ordered but not consumed. Pulkit fell asleep before drinking it. Even if consumed, today would have reached 113g protein — still 7g short. The fix is not just ordering the shake; it's drinking it before or with dinner, not planning to drink it after.

⚠️ French toast is a beautiful, calorie-dense breakfast but it's a protein trap: 20g protein from the entire meal. Same as Jun 26. On the days when french toast is the breakfast choice, the day needs to get significantly more protein from every other meal — because this meal already uses 740 kcal of the day's budget for only 20g protein.

✅ Solid lunch — 35g protein from lean chicken at a clean calorie cost. This is the best protein meal of the day. After breakfast (20g) + lunch (35g) = 55g, the day needs another 65g protein to reach the floor. That's not achievable from dahi bhalla (15g) + dosa dinner (10g) + energy bar (1.5g) = 26.5g. The gap: 38.5g short, even without accounting for the missed shake.

📝 Stopping at 4 of 7 pieces is good portion awareness. But at 15g protein, this slot is carb-and-fat, not protein. This was the ideal moment to drink the protein shake — before dinner, with the snack — which would have gotten protein to 97g at that point with the dosa dinner still ahead.

⚠️ Dosa dinner = the dosa trap for the 4th time (Jun 22, 26, 28, 30). 9g protein from the largest meal of the day. The sambar (70%) and chutney (50%) portions were well-controlled — but portion discipline at dinner doesn't fix the structural protein deficit from the food category itself.

22 Days In: The Plan Is Right. One Problem Is Accelerating — And Today's Missed Shake Shows Why
The aggregate picture across 22 days is encouraging: average calories at +112 over target, average protein at 133g (in range), and the pizza protocol never broken. But a closer look at the last 5 days reveals that the single open problem — Indian-dinner protein gap — has now occurred 3 times in 5 days, and today showed that even ordering the right supplement isn't enough if the timing is wrong.

Are We On Track?
Yes overall — but the Indian-dinner trap is the most urgent open item and it's getting worse, not better.
The overall structure is working: a +74 kcal/day average surplus is appropriate for a lean muscle-building phase, average protein at 133g is inside the range, and the pizza protocol has never been broken in 22 days. Creatine is daily. Water has improved from ~1.7L average in week 1 to 2.38L now. None of this should change.

The one problem that is accelerating: The Indian-dinner protein trap has now occurred 3 times in the last 5 days (Jun 26, 28, 30) after occurring 0 times in the previous 17 days. The Epigamia Protocol was introduced after Jun 26. Jun 28 had a second miss anyway. Jun 30 had the shake ORDERED but not consumed. The pattern has demonstrated that awareness alone is not solving this — the execution is breaking down because the supplement is being planned for after-dinner rather than before or with dinner. A shake drunk before you fall asleep doesn't help.

The fix needs to be structural, not awareness-based: on any day where dinner is dosa, idli, or rice-based Indian food, the protein supplement gets consumed at 7pm, before the meal, regardless of hunger, with a phone alarm if necessary.
Confirmed Pattern — 3 Occurrences in 5 Days
The Indian-Dinner Protein Trap: A Template That Guarantees Under-Floor Protein
All 3 under-protein days (Jun 26, 28, 30) share the same template:
· Lighter breakfast (French toast or 2-egg omelette = 20-27g protein vs 36-43g on 3-4 egg days)
· Carb-first snack at some point (dahi chaat, coleslaw sandwich, etc.)
· Plain dosa or rice-only Indian dinner (4-10g protein from the largest meal of the day)
· Protein supplement not consumed in time (Jun 26: no supplement ordered; Jun 28: none ordered; Jun 30: ordered but fell asleep before drinking)
The structural maximum from this template without a supplement: approximately 82-98g protein — always well below the 120g floor regardless of portion sizes. The only exits are: (a) drink the supplement BEFORE dinner on these days, and (b) strengthen the breakfast protein on french toast days specifically.

Under-protein days: Jun 26, 28, 30 — all 3 in the last 5 days. The previous 14 logged days had zero sub-floor protein days. The pattern has emerged and is accelerating. Jun 29 cleared the floor by 1g only because of the shake.
What's Genuinely Working
✅
StrengthLong-run protein average (133g over 19 days) is healthy and in range. The 3 recent misses bring the average down but haven't broken it — they are a cluster, not the norm.
✅
StrengthPizza protocol has never broken in 22 days. Crusts are always left, zero-calorie cola always chosen. Automatic habits that are no longer coached at all.
✅
StrengthSupplement awareness is developing. Jun 29 had the shake consumed. Jun 30 had the shake ORDERED. Two weeks ago neither would have happened. The instinct is there — the execution needs tightening.
✅
StrengthFat compliance on full-calorie days (non-under-eating days): Jun 14, 16, 22, and now Jun 30 (tikka lunch day) = 4 of ~15 normal eating days. Improving but slowly.
The Two Specific Fixes Remaining
🚨
#1 — NEW RULESupplement at 7pm on any dosa/Indian-dinner day — with a phone alarm. Not "I'll have it later." The evidence is in: planning to drink it after dinner doesn't work (Jun 28: no supplement; Jun 30: fell asleep). 7pm is before tiredness sets in and before dinner is finished.
⚠️
#1b — NEW INSIGHTEven with the shake, french toast + dosa = 113g protein. On french toast days specifically, add 2 eggs on the side. This is the only way to guarantee the floor is hit without restricting the breakfast food itself.
🥑
#2 — Fat StackingIn range on 7 of 19 days. The "one rich item per dinner" rule is working better (Jun 29's 8-inch pizza was lighter than usual) but bhalla papdi as an evening snack on pizza nights still stacks the fat. Keep improving.
Next Steps Going Forward
017pm supplement alarm on dosa/Indian-dinner days — non-negotiable from today. Not a reminder to think about it. A fixed alarm: at 7pm, the shake gets drunk regardless of what else is happening. This is the single highest-leverage change available.
02On french toast breakfast days: add 2 eggs on the side. French toast is not the problem — its 20g protein is just not enough to anchor a high-protein day. Two extra scrambled or poached eggs (12g protein, ~140 kcal) bring breakfast to 32g and make the rest of the day manageable even without a dedicated protein meal at dinner.
03Keep all Phase 1 targets as set. 22 days of data confirms protein 120-150g, fat 60-80g, carbs 270-345g, ~2,400 kcal, and 3.0L water are all correctly calibrated. Nothing changes structurally.
04Track the "dahi puri vs dahi bhalla" question definitively. This has shown up in photos as bhalla (larger lentil dumplings) while the log says puri (small crispy shells) three times in a row. Bhalla runs 25-30% more calories per piece. Confirming which item this actually is affects every future log of this snack.
05Water to 2.8L consistently before pushing for 3.0L. Average is 2.38L, Jun 29's 2.0L was a setback. The record is 2.9L (Jun 24). That 3.0L target is genuinely close — 500ml more than the current average, which is one extra standard bottle.
06On bhalla-papdi + pizza evenings: choose one, not both. Jun 27 (bhalla papdi + pizza) and Jun 29 (bhalla papdi + 8" pizza) both crossed or nearly crossed the fat ceiling. The 8-inch pizza on Jun 29 helped significantly — this is worth repeating on chaat-snack days going forward.
"Twenty-two days in and the problem is clearer than it's ever been — not because things are going wrong, but because the logging is honest enough that patterns show up fast. The Indian-dinner trap has now demonstrated three times in five days that awareness alone isn't enough: the supplement needs to be consumed before the conditions that cause it to be missed. One alarm at 7pm fixes this entirely. That's all the gap between where we are and where this phase is supposed to go." — Coach Manmeet
